Biography
DEAllen started taking drawing classes at the Pratt Fine Arts Center in Seattle about 2010. After moving to Edmonds he continued art classes at Cole Gallery, Edmonds Community College and directly from local artists, including extensive mentoring from Angela Bandurka. He started painting in Pastels in 2018, moving to Acrylics in 2020. Member of National Oil & Acrylic Painters’ Society, Northwest Watercolor Society, and Artist’s Connect in Edmonds, Washington.
Artistic Statement
It is commonly said that learning to draw or paint makes one really look at everything. Exploring how to express what I’m seeing, in form, color, light and contrast is what inspires me to paint.
